Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you use Randomix atrandomix.app (the "Site"). It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), because the Site is available worldwide.

Who runs this site

Randomix is an independent project operated from India. For the purposes of the DPDP Act the operator is the Data Fiduciary; under GDPR, the Data Controller. All privacy questions, grievances, and rights requests are handled through a single point of contact: contact@randomix.app.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing that identifies you. Randomix has no sign-up, no login, no contact form, and no backend that records your activity. The names you type into a wheel, the numbers you generate, and the results you get are processed in your browser and never transmitted to us.

Local storage on your device

The Site stores small preferences in your browser's localStorage so it behaves the way you left it:

• Your theme choice — whether you selected the light or dark appearance (stored as randomix-theme).
• Your sound preference — whether you muted the sound effects. Some tools remember this per tool, so you may see more than one entry for it (keys ending in -muted).

These stay on your device, are never sent anywhere, and are not used to identify or track you. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. If you share a link that contains a ?s= parameter, your tool setup is encoded in that URL itself — we do not store or receive it.

Advertising and third-party cookies

Advertising is not running on Randomix at the time of writing. No advertising cookies are set and no ad vendor collects anything about you today. Randomix is intended to be free and funded by advertising, so this section describes what will happen once ads are enabled — and what you will be able to do about it. Until then it does not apply.

When advertising is enabled, this is the part of the Site where data about you is genuinely collected — not by us, but by advertising vendors whose code runs on these pages:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• These vendors may collect your IP address, device and browser information, and general location, and may combine it with data gathered elsewhere to build an advertising profile.

How to opt out

You can turn off personalized advertising at any time. Because these controls belong to the advertising vendors rather than to Randomix, they live on their sites:

• Opt out of personalized Google ads atGoogle Ads Settings.

Blocking cookies in your browser, or using an ad blocker, also prevents this collection. The tools on Randomix work normally either way.

Consent

Because no advertising currently runs on Randomix, no advertising cookies are set, and there is nothing to consent to today. The only data stored is the handful of functional preferences on your own device described above, which do not require consent.

If and when advertising is enabled, and where the law requires consent before advertising cookies are set — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — visitors in those regions will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before any such cookie is used, and will be able to withdraw it at any time. This policy will be updated at that point.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve or delete. Rights that concern advertising data must be exercised with the vendor that holds it, using the opt-out links above.

• Under the DPDP Act (India) — you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data held about you, and you may raise a grievance with us. Write to contact@randomix.app and we will respond as promptly as we can. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Under the GDPR (EEA/UK) — you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
• Under the CCPA (California) — you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Randomix does not sell personal information. Advertising vendors' use of cookies may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; opting out through the links above stops it.

Data retention

We retain nothing, because we collect nothing. Preferences remain on your own device until you clear them. Advertising vendors apply their own retention periods, set out in their policies.

Children

Randomix is a general-audience site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Under the DPDP Act, processing a child's personal data requires verifiable parental consent; since we collect no personal data, this does not arise. If you believe a child's data has reached us through some error, write to contact@randomix.app and we will act on it.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS only and sends a Content-Security-Policy that restricts which scripts may run. Because no personal data is stored on our side, there is no user database to breach.

International transfers

Randomix is operated from India and hosted on a global content delivery network, so the Site is served from whichever location is nearest to you. Advertising vendors operate their own infrastructure internationally and handle transfers under their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it. Since we have no way to contact you, we cannot notify you directly — please check back if this matters to you.
